Why can't I open D5/it remain stuck in initializing?

Modified on Sun, 27 Apr at 4:37 AM

Hello, when encountering this issue, please test yourself first to check if you can open the empty/demo scene normally.

Please note: After updating D5 or driver version, it takes 5-7min to load the file for the first time when you open it, so please be patient for a while.

- If even the empty scene can not be opened

Your hardware or computer environment may have errors, please check the following aspects

  • Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling: Please ensure this feature is disabled.
  • Graphics Card Compatibility: Verify that your graphics card is officially supported by D5 Render.
  • Multiple Graphics Cards: If you have both integrated and dedicated graphics cards, D5 might be using the incorrect one. Please try disabling the integrated graphics card in your Device Manager and see if the issue persists.
  • Graphics Driver: An abnormal or outdated driver can cause problems. Please try a clean installation of the latest recommended driver (or a known stable version).
  • D5 Installation Permissions: The current D5 installation directory might have permission restrictions. Please try a complete reinstallation of D5 in a different location on your local drive.

- If the problem exists only in the current file

The following reasons may be possible:

  • Network Storage: If the file is located on a network drive, there might be issues with data access. Please try opening a local file or moving the problematic file to your local drive.
  • File Corruption: The file itself might be corrupted. Please check if you have any previous versions of the file that you can open. You can find information on accessing previous versions here: Where can I download a previous version of D5 Render?
