In the Asset Library, numerous vegetation models are provided according to the classification of common plants, which can be downloaded by clicking on them, and can be used as a single model in the scene, or can be scattered in the scene using the vegetation tool.

Brush and Scatter

Brush

Select the vegetation model and choose the brush tool to use the current model to draw in the scene.

Radius

Control the radius size of the drawing brush

Density

Control the density of vegetation

Size

Controls the size of the selected vegetation when it is drawn in the scene

Random size

Control the degree of randomness in the size of the selected vegetation

Aligned to Terrain

When checked, the plants will be generated along the model surface normal, and when closed, the vegetation will grow in vertical direction

Hold down Shift to lock the selected face and draw only within the selected face.

Scatter

When the Radius parameter of the Brush tool is set to the maximum, the Scatter tool is activated and the vegetation is filled within the selected face.

Brush Records

After painting or scattering objects onto a model, select the model, then we can see the Brush records on the right sidebar. The records include information about painted objects/plants, and each of them can be hidden or deleted. What's more, the combination of plants in the record can be reused as brush or eraser. Right click the brush record to delete or rename it, which makes it easier to manage the assets in the scene.

Multiple Brush Records

If multiple brush records have the same vegetation combination, they will be merged into one automatically. For example, the first time we use 3 plants A/B/C, the second time we use 3 plants B/C/D, and the third time we use 3 plants A/B/C again, then there will be only two brush records on the model: A/B/C and B/C/D.

Eraser and Clean

Eraser

Set the radius of the eraser to clear all plant models drawn with the Brush and Scatter tools within the radius.

After selecting a vegetation model, then select Eraser to erase only the currently selected vegetation model in the scene.

If no vegetation model is selected, erase all vegetation drawn by the Brush and Scatter tools.

Clean

Pull the Eraser tool's radius to the maximum to activate the Clear tool. The Clean tool will erase all models drawn with the Brush and Scatter tools in the current range at once.

The Clean tool is used in the same way as the Eraser, if vegetation is selected, only the selected is cleaned. If no vegetation is selected, then clean all vegetation.

Vegetation Path

Basic Editing

Paths support basic "Duplicate" and "Focus on" functions.

Click the "Edit" button to enter the path control point editing mode. In this state, you can only add, move and delete control points of the path. After editing, click the right mouse button or click "Done" button to exit the drawing.

The basic parameters include location and rotation, which can also be adjusted with the scene tool. Paths do not support rescaling.

Parameter Adjustment

Used to adjust the distribution of vegetation models on the path.

Number of items

The "Number of items" controls the total number of models on the currently selected path. The minimum number of models is 2, distributed at the two endpoints of the path; the maximum number is 100.

Direction and Random Direction

The "Direction" parameter controls the direction of the model rotation, which is the uniform direction of all models on the path.

The "Random Direction" is based on the existing Direction, and then rotate each model randomly.

Random Spacing and Random Offset

By default, models are equally spaced along the centerline of the path. Adjust the position with the "Random Spacing" and "Random Offset" parameters to randomize the models within a certain range.

"Random Spacing" means that the model moves a certain distance along the centerline of the path, increasing or decreasing the distance between the two modes directly.

"Random Offset" is when the model moves perpendicular to the centerline of the path, randomly increasing the distance from the centerline and increasing the width of the path.

Size and Rrandom Size

The "Size" parameter controls the uniform size of all models on the path. The default standard size of the model is "1", and the size can be adjusted in multiples of "0.1 to 2".

The "Random Size" allows you to set the size of the model randomly based on the existing size of the model.

On the Ground

When the model surface is curved and uneven, the path does not fit the model surface completely, and the model on the path will float in mid-air. When you use the "On the Ground" function, the model will be automatically attached to the nearest model surface.
