Why are models imported as a whole, and why can't individual parts or materials be adjusted separately in D5 Render?

Hello, currently, the same model file will be imported into D5 as a whole—splitting or ungrouping models within D5 is not yet supported.

- If you need to edit a specific part of the model

You will need to import that part separately. You can also export a .D5A file using plugins that preserve group structures. This is currently supported through LiveSync for some DCCs like SketchUp and 3ds Max, with support for other workflows coming in the future.

- If you need to adjust materials separately

Please assign distinct textures to different parts of the model in your modeling software before importing it into D5. After import, you can:

  • Use the material picker (shortcut “i”) to select and edit materials.
  • Or, lock the model in the object list on the left sidebar, then click the model directly to edit its materials using the D5 Assets Library.
